Hello!
My name is Heather.
There are two things I’ve been obsessed with for a long time: sustainable living and being cheap.
My hippie ways began in fourth grade when a student-teacher introduced me to recycling. I consequently set up recycle bins in my family’s tiny apartment kitchen. My mom decided that it was taking up too much room and boycotted my effort, but I was not deterred. I was going to save the Earth, gosh dang-it!
As the years went by, I immersed myself in all the wisdom of the environmental movement, learning both practical and incredibly difficult ways to “go green.” Nearly 20 years later, like everyone else, I still struggle with many sustainable actions as I coexist in modern society. Even so, I’ve mastered a few tricks and ingrained some sustainable actions into my life that has made a big difference on the personal impact I make on our ecosystem.
In my teen years, my eco-philia led me to the joy of consuming less and the ineveitable savings that comes with it. This has allowed me to live well with an income under the poverty level most of my adult life. I’ve also discoverd and refined many money-saving skills that have helped me save money when it is necessary for me to consume…ya know, like when I need to eat. Because I like to eat. A lot.
This website is a snippet of my personal ideas as well as some of the awesome green ways to save money that I discover.
