Global warming has been evident in today’s generation. The increasing amount of carbon emissions being deposited in the atmosphere from burning of fossil fuels has led to the greenhouse effect that is warming up the planet and causing drastic changes in the weather. Worldwide endeavors in finding alternative energy sources and employing green technology have been underway for decades and have proven to be more efficient with the advancement of technology and modern innovations. The advent of green technology has paved way for more responsible eco-friendly designs in architectures, household items and gadgetry. More and more companies have dedicated their efforts in manufacturing and designing their products so that they contribute to the worldwide effort to encourage sustainability and conserving our planet.

What is green technology and its benefits?  Green architecture, product designs and manufacturing technologies have recently been focused on the idea of eco-friendliness and sustainability. More buildings are now being designed with energy saving features and efficient energy consumption. The use of natural lighting, natural air circulation, and innovative water recycling in modern buildings has created an inspiration for other companies to follow. LED lighting which consumes less power and undeniably much more long-lasting than other light systems has been used instead of the conventional incandescent and fluorescent bulbs. Products made of recycled and biodegradable plastics have also been numerous in the market. Almost all plastics produced today have been made from recycled materials and are manufactured using less harmful chemicals that reduce toxic wastes being dumped into the environment.

While it may be impossible to reverse the effects global warming, the efforts of humankind through research and implementation of an eco-friendly lifestyle will effectively slow down and even halt its progress. The ongoing development of more green technology combined with the use of renewable energy sources which harness power from solar, geothermal, hydroelectric, and wind energy have been the most effective way of ensuring sustainability for the future. Constant modern innovations are still underway to offer more intelligent ways on making life more comfortable without compromising the future’s energy needs.
